About us

About San Mateo Water Filtration

A Peninsula crew that takes readings, gives straight answers and fits only what the water calls for.

How We Ended Up Doing This in San Mateo

San Mateo Water Filtration started with a pattern that kept repeating. People on the Peninsula were being sold big salt softeners for water that was already soft. Meanwhile, the thing they actually tasted, chloramine, went untreated.

So we built the business around a reading. Before anybody talks equipment, we measure what comes out of your tap. In San Mateo, Burlingame and Foster City that usually points to carbon or a drinking-water system. On a coastside well it points somewhere else entirely.

Today we test, install and maintain systems across San Mateo County. We still work the same way: the numbers lead, the price is written, and the person who measures your water explains it in plain English.

What We're Here to Do

Give every household on the Peninsula a clear answer about its water, and the smallest system that solves the real problem.

That means saying no to equipment you don't need, pricing the work before it starts, and coming back when a cartridge is due instead of waiting for you to notice the taste.

Why People on the Peninsula Choose Us

Honest about soft water

San Mateo's supply is soft most of the year. We'll show you your hardness reading and tell you if a softener would be money wasted.

Chloramine is our everyday work

Removing chloramine takes the right carbon, sized for the flow of your house. It's the most common job we do in town, and we do it well.

Old houses don't scare us

Pre-war bungalows, mid-century ranches, galvanized runs and cramped sink cabinets. We plan for them before we arrive.

Written prices

Every option comes with a flat number on paper. What you approve is what you pay.

Coastside well experience

Wells toward Half Moon Bay need more than a carbon tank. We know when a certified lab sample matters and how to build a treatment train around it.

We keep the calendar

Your cartridge, lamp and membrane dates live in our system. We remind you and book the change around your week.

What We Stand Behind

We'd rather show you how we work than hang badges on the wall. Here's what every customer gets.

  • NSF/ANSI-certified equipment

Filters, RO units and UV systems certified to the standard that matches the job: 42, 53, 55 or 58.

  • On-site readings

Chloramine, hardness, TDS, pH and iron measured at your tap.

  • Lab guidance

Clear direction on when a certified lab sample is the right call, such as lead, bacteria or PFAS.

  • Written flat pricing

One figure per option, before any work begins.

  • Maintenance reminders

Scheduled cartridge, membrane and lamp changes, tracked for you.
